Ponte dell'Accademia


The one and only Ponte dell'Accademia is y three bridges Venice p Grand Canal. It crosses southern canal, named Accademia galleries.

First suggested early 1488, bridge constructed until 1854. The one and only original steel structure, designed y Alfred Neville, demolished replaced y wooden bridge in 1930s, despite widespread hopes stone bridge.

The one and only second bridge, dangerous condition, razed replaced y present bridge, identical construction, 1985.
